THE APPLICATION DATE FOR 2010 MEDICAL RESEARCH EQUIPMENT AWARDS WILL BE ADVISED. INQUIRIES 9431 2106

Eligibility

Any individual(s) working at Fremantle Hospital and wishing to conduct research of a medical nature.

Applications will be considered from any area e.g. Clinical, Physiotherapy, Speech Pathology etc. It is not necessary for the Chief Investigator to have a degree in medicine.

This Award is made possible by the generosity of Westend Financial Partners and the AMP Foundation.

Awards Available in 2009

One Award of $10,000.

Selection Criteria

The following should be addressed when making a request for equipment funding:

1. The equipment should support high quality medical research.
2. Lack of access to similar equipment at Fremantle Hospital.
3. Collaborative gain through the use of the equipment e.g. multi-user equipment which crosses disciplines, research groups and departments.
4. The number of researchers/departments that the equipment will benefit.

The Award request may either be for full funding, make up for a shortfall in funding provided by departments or other agencies, or be the subject of matching funds etc.


Assessment

Award Applications will be assessed by a sub committee of the Fremantle Hospital Medical Research Foundation Board of Trustees.

Requirements

1. Provide EIGHT (8) hard copies of the signed application (one original plus 7 photocopies) to the Fremantle Hospital Medical Research Foundation, including any relevant attachments (brochures, quotes etc.) by the due date.
2. Send an electronic copy to the Fremantle Hospital Medical Research Foundation (MRF@health.wa.gov.au) by the due date.
3. Save an electronic copy of this application for your own records.
